Traditional Herbal Extract
Originally native to Europe and Asia, St John's Wort is a plant with the Latin name of Hypericum perforatum. It has a bare trunk and beautiful star-shaped yellow flowers and is now found all over the world in temperate locations. It is considered by many to be an unwanted weed, but despite its reputation as an invasive species, St John's Wort has a long history of being used in a therapeutic capacity, and modern extraction methods have allowed for its benefits to be concentrated into convenient tablet form.
How Can St John's Wort Tablets Help?
As a Traditional Herbal Remedy, St John's Wort has been used to treat a range of issues. However, the most famous role of St John's Wort is a solution to a slightly low mood and mild anxiety, and it has been traditionally used to tackle these disorders for decades.
- Mood-boosting activity - The active ingredient in St John's Wort is hypericin, and this compound is thought to have the ability to raise a slightly low mood
- Anxiety – St John's Wort is thought to have anxiolytic and sedative actions, which can benefit people suffering from the occasional bout of mild anxiety or stress
