Iron deficiency anaemia can be surprisingly common, particularly among women of child-bearing age. The impact of such a deficiency can have a significant impact on one’s life, with potential symptoms including tiredness, headaches and even hair loss.
Fortunately, once diagnosed, iron deficiencies are often easily resolved either through the use of iron tablets and/or a change of diet to introduce more iron-rich foods.
The first step is to identify whether such an issue exists. That’s exactly what our iron deficiency anaemia home test kit aims to address.
Test in the Privacy of Your Own Home
While your GP will often be happy to offer an iron deficiency test, it is now possible to check for signs of anaemia from the comfort of your own home thanks to this test kit.
Our kit contains everything necessary except for a watch to accurately measure the time it takes for results to develop. Within 10 minutes of taking the test, you should have your results. There is no need to send off samples at all, and once the test is complete the whole package can be safely disposed of your household waste.
Read moreHow the Home Test Kit Works
This home anaemia testing kit uses a small droplet of blood to test for specific biomarkers such as ferritin. Ferritin is a molecule that stores iron within healthy cells, and a small amount of continually released. By checking for the concentration of ferritin in the blood, it is possible to assess your body’s current iron status.
Using the test kit is very simple indeed. Start by collecting a small sample using the included sterile lancet. Add the droplet with the specified amount of diluent to the test device and simply wait 10 minutes for the clear test result.
